Shizuko Natsuki's original book W No Higeki, the story of a rich family torn apart by the murder of their patriarch, and their heiress being accused of the crime, becomes a play and is acted out by a troupe of actors. Shizuka ( Hiroko Yakushimaru ) has always dreamed of being a famous stage actress and she auditions for the lead role of Mako in the play but only ends up being cast as a maid. Instead of stage time, she mostly runs errands for the main cast of the play. Famous actress Sho Hatori ( Yoshiko Mita ) who plays one of the other leads as Mako's mother, is struck by a tragedy when her long time sugar daddy suffers a heart attack while having sex with her. Knowing it would be a huge scandal and destroy her career if it came out, she convinces Shizuka to stand-in for her and take the heat, in return promising her the lead role of Mako, replacing Kaori ( Miho Takagi ). Is this the opportunity she has always dreamed of?
